An Ounce of Prevention is Worth a Pound of Cure!

By Noah Baumann – Lake Shield LLC

The waters of our beautiful state and beyond our borders, belong to everyone. What that means is we are all responsible for creating healthy user habits when it comes to recreating. As with all accesses, there are numerous signs and informational posts regarding fish limits, “No Power Loading,” “Lake Stewards – Clean Waters Healthy Habitats,” etc.…

Lake Shield, LLC uses I-LIDS; automated, remote monitoring of access use to help PREVENT the spread of AIS through inspection of boat launches. Custom-tailored audio messages are played to alert individuals that they should inspect their vessel and trailer for any weeds prior to launch, remind them water cannot be transported, and to enjoy the water.

Our systems are standalone, solar powered, and vandal resistant, and rely on cellular service. We operate under the premise that lake education is not available to everyone, and we try to educate at point of use.
Videos are reviewed by our team, and launch statistics are compiled to help counties, lake associations, and local government make informed decisions with on-site inspectors. I-LIDS work great in tandem with AIS inspectors!

Do you prefer not to use video at your launch site? No problem! We’ll work with you to develop the perfect solution for your lake. We recommend checking for grant eligibility in your county (which comes from the AIS Prevention Aid).
